The present invention relates to cellular radio communication and in particular to providing information on neighbour cells to enable terminals to perform neighbour cell measurements. In the prior art the terminal attempts to make neighbour cell measurements in a reference signal structure that is the same in the neighbour cell as in the cell the terminal camps in. The present invention is based on the insight that the reference signal structure may differ between neighbouring cell for example in the situation of an MBSFN area that is restricted to a region of all cells of a radio network, or in the situation of TDD mode being applied there may be different regions with different allocation of sub-frames for transmission in the uplink and downlink directions. The present invention solves the problem by broadcast information in a cell indicative of the reference signal structure in neighbour cells.
La présente invention concerne une communication radio cellulaire et plus particulièrement la fourniture d'informations relatives à des cellules voisines pour permettre à des terminaux d'obtenir de mesures relatives à des cellules voisines. Dans l'état de la technique, le terminal tente d'obtenir des mesures relatives à des cellules voisines dans une structure de signaux de référence qui est identique dans la cellule voisine et dans la cellule dans laquelle se trouve le terminal. La présente invention repose sur le fait que la structure de signaux de référence peut être différente entre deux cellules voisines, par exemple dans le cas d'une zone MBSFN qui est limitée à une région de toutes les cellules d'un réseau radio, ou dans le cas d'un mode TDD appliqué où il peut y avoir des régions différentes avec des attributions de sous-trames de transmission différentes dans le sens amont et le sens aval. La présente invention permet de résoudre le problème, car elle permet d'obtenir des informations de diffusion dans une cellule indiquant la structure de signaux de référence dans des cellules voisines.
