ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A device is capable of holding a plurality of arcuate plate segments arranged end-to-end into an circular configuration. Each segment defines, in the circular configuration, an outer edge portion. The device comprises a circular support having an inwardly opening groove. This circular support is itself formed of two semicircular grooved members detachable from each other to open the circular support and attachable to each other to close this support. Accordingly, the circular support can be opened to enable placement of the outer edge portions of all the segments into the groove, and subsequently closed to thereby hold the plate segments end-to-end into the circular configuration. The device can be used to replace the set of arcuate plate segments bolted to a disk in a T.M.P. refiner.
