A method of testing a biological fluid for the presence of an infection, the method including the steps of introducing a sample of biological fluid and a reagent including light amplifying compound into a reaction chamber (18), the light amplifying compound reacting with a substance present only in an infected sample to emit light, and immediately measuring the intensity of any light emitted from the sample.

L'invention concerne une méthode d'analyse d'un fluide biologique pour détecter la présence éventuelle d'une infection, cette méthode consistant à introduire dans une chambre de réaction (18) un échantillon de fluide biologique et un réactif contenant un composé amplifiant la lumière, ledit composé réagissant avec une substance présente uniquement dans un échantillon infecté pour émettre de la lumière, puis à mesurer immédiatement l'intensité de la lumière éventuellement émise par l'échantillon.
