A mounting device for mounting a window covering such as a venetian-type blind between a pair of window jambs. The device includes a pair of mounting structures each provided with a corresponding housing. One end of each housing is configured and sized so as to be slidably insertable over a corresponding longitudinal end of the blind head rail. The first housing is provided with an abutment component extending therefrom in a direction leading away from the head rail. The abutment component is attached to the housing by a mechanism allowing the customization of the spacing between the abutment component and the housing. The second housing is also provided with an abutment component extending generally away from the head rail. The abutment component is attached to the second housing by a mechanism that allows for customization of both the relative axial spacing and the angular relationship between the second housing and its abutment component. The pivotal movement of the abutment component attached to the second housing facilitates installation of the device between the jambs. The mounting device also includes a solidifying rod attached to both mounting structures and to the head rail for solidifying the latter.
