A blind bolt assembly (10) for compressively connecting at least two overlapping workpieces (12, 14) having a hollow bolt(16) sized to be received within aligned apertures in the workpieces. The hollow bolt includes an enlarged head portion (18), a grip section (20) extending from the head portion and a reduced diameter externally threaded end portion (22) extending from the grip section. An angled ramp section (24) extends between the grip section and the threaded end portion. A core bolt (30) having an elongated shaft (32) is positioned within a cylindrical hole in the hollow bolt and includes a drive head extending outside the hollow bolt. The blind bolt assembly includes a cylindrical collar (40) having an internally threaded section for threadable receipt of the threaded end portion of the hollow bolt and a drive section for receipt of a drive portion of the core bolt. The drive portion of the core bolt and the drive section of the collar preferably include mating splines.
L'invention concerne un ensemble à boulon borgne (10) destiné raccorder sous compression au moins deux pièces se chevauchant (12, 14), présentant un boulon creux dimensionné pour être logé dans les ouvertures alignées ménagées dans les pièces. Le boulon creux comprend une portion de tête élargie (18), une section de prise (20) s'étendant à partir de la portion de tête, et une portion d'extrémité filetée extérieurement (22), de diamètre réduit, s'étendant à partir de la section de prise. Une section formant une rampe (24) s'étend entre la section de prise et la section d'extrémité filetée. Un boulon central (30) présentant une tige allongée (32) est positionné à l'intérieur d'un trou cylindrique dans le boulon creux et comporte une tête d'entraînement s'étendant à l'extérieur du boulon creux. L'ensemble à boulon borgne comprend un manchon cylindrique (40) à section taraudée en vue de recevoir la portion d'extrémité filetée du boulon creux, et une section d'entraînement destinée à recevoir une portion d'entraînement du boulon central. La portion d'entraînement du boulon central et la section d'entraînement du manchon présentent de préférence des cannelures coopérant entre elles.
