The present invention provides the use of a cyclopentenone prostaglandin in the manufacture of a medicament for delaying the onset and/or preventing the continuation of labour in a female. Preferably the cyclopentenone prostaglandin prevents and/or reduces an inflammatory response in the reproductive system of a female. Preferably, the cyclopentenone prostaglandin is 15-deoxy-.DELTA.12,14-prostaglandin J2, or prostaglandin A1 or a precursor thereof. The invention further provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising cyclopentenone prostaglandin and methods of use thereof.
La présente invention porte sur l'utilisation d'une cyclopenténone prostaglandine pour fabriquer un médicament visant à retarder le début et/ou empêcher la poursuite du travail chez une femme. La cyclopenténone prostaglandine de préférence prévient et/ou réduit une réponse inflammatoire dans l'appareil génital d'une femme. La cyclopenténone prostaglandine est de préférence une 15-désoxy-.DELTA.?12,14¿-prostaglandine J¿2 ?ou prostaglandine A¿1? ou un précurseur de celles-ci. Cette invention concerne également une composition pharmaceutique comprenant une cyclopenténone prostaglandine et des méthodes d'utilisation correspondantes.
