ABSTRACT An anti-tamper device for use with a security detection apparatus and provided with timer means and detector means. Upon the detection of a person or article by the detector means, said means initiates the timer means. The timer means arranged such that this means initiates the operation of an alarm device if an expected subsequent movement of the person or article does not occur after initiation of the timer means and within a time period set in the timer means.
