The invention provides a system and method of maintaining the temperature of the oil in conventional gasoline and diesel engines/ compressors at satisfactorily high levels to ensure starting in cold weather. The invention pneumatically removes oil from the oil pan and stores it in an insulated vessel, where its temperature may be maintained for extended period of time while the engine is not operating. When it is time to restart the engine, the warm oil from the insulated vessel is pumped back into the engine facilitating; its cranking. There is an option to pump oil back to the engine under pressure, which can pressurized the engine oil system prior the engine starts. The system can also be used as a simple and quick way to effect an oil change.
