High-volume mass-production and customization of complex three-dimensional polymer and polymer-derived-ceramic microstructures are manufactured in a single step directly from three-dimensional computer models. A projection based non-degenerate two-photon induced photopolymerization method overcomes the drawbacks of conventional one and two-photon fabrication methods. The structure includes dual, synchronized, high-peak power, pulsed femtosecond and picosecond lasers combined with spatial light modulation. Applications include high-resolution rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing with an emphasis on fabrication of various Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices, especially in the area of MEMS packaging.

L'invention concerne la production de masse et en grand volume et l'adaptation de microstructures polymères tridimensionnelles complexes et de microstructures céramiques dérivées de polymères qui sont fabriquées en une seule étape directement à partir de modèles informatiques tridimensionnels. Un procédé de photopolymérisation induite à deux photons non dégénérés fondé sur une projection permet de ne pas rencontrer les problèmes associés aux procédés de fabrication classiques et à deux photons. La structure comprend des lasers doubles, synchronisés, à puissance de crête élevée, à impulsions femtosecondes et picosecondes combinés à une modulation de lumière spatiale. Parmi les applications dans lesquelles le procédé de l'invention peut être utilisé, on peut citer le prototypage rapide haute résolution et la fabrication rapide avec un accent mis sur la fabrication de divers dispositifs de type systèmes microélectromécaniques (MEMS), en particulier dans le domaine de l'encapsulation MEMS.
