The invention concerns a method for obtaining a fluorescent conjugate between a carrier molecule having at least an amino, hydroxy, carboxy and/or sulphydryl group and a fluorophore reagent having at least a functional group capable of reacting with said amino, hydroxy, carboxy and/or sulphydryl group(s), which consists in bringing said molecule and said fluorophore reagent in the presence of an aqueous solution of a water-soluble macrocycle. The invention also concerns the conjugates obtained by this method and their use.
