The invention relates to the novel use of known active substance combinations which consist firstly of 3,4-dichloro-2'-cyano-1,2-thiazole-5-carboxanilide, of the formula (see formula I) which is known, and secondly further known insecticidal active substances, for controlling animal pests, especially arthropods, in particular insects.
