Description

A tag for attachment to a container or similar package being shipped and/or stored comprises: a central processing unit (CPU); a timer; a crystal resonator connected to the timer; a measuring block connected to the CPU; one or more sensors connected to the measuring block; a communications block connected to the CPU; a feedback block connected to the CPU; and an EEPROM connected to the CPU. In use a sensor senses environmental changes to which the package is exposed during shipment and/or storage. The CPU processes signals received from the sensor and stores processed data for later retrieval. When required the CPU communicates such processed data via the communications block to a party interested in such processed data.
