The present invention provides an intravascular device which brings the vessel wall adjacent the vein valve radially inwardly to bring valve leaflets into opposition. The present invention, in one aspect provides a vascular device movable from a collapsed insertion position having a first diameter to an expanded position having a second larger diameter. A plurality of vessel engaging members extend outwardly from the device for securely engaging the internal wall of a vessel upon expansion of the device to the second expanded position. The vessel engaging members pull the internal wall of the vessel radially inwardly upon movement of the device from the second expanded position toward a first expanded position having a third diameter greater than the first diameter and smaller than the second diameter.
Cette invention a trait à un dispositif intra-vasculaire qui déplace radialement vers l'intérieur la paroi de vaisseau contiguë à la valvule d'une veine périphérique, afin de mettre les valvules en apposition. Un des aspects de l'invention porte sur un dispositif vasculaire pouvant passer d'une position d'insertion, dans laquelle il est affaissé et a un premier diamètre, à une position dans laquelle il est en expansion et a un deuxième diamètre plus grand que le premier. Plusieurs éléments entrant en contact avec le vaisseau partent du dispositif vers l'extérieur afin de s'adapter fermement à la paroi interne d'un vaisseau lors de la mise en expansion du dispositif. Ces éléments attirent la paroi interne du vaisseau radialement vers l'intérieur lorsque le dispositif passe de la deuxième position en expansion à une troisième position en expansion ayant un troisième diamètre supérieur au premier mais inférieur au deuxième.
