A dielectric film having a high refractive index, characterized in that it comprises an amorphous material comprising a titanium oxide (TiOx wherein 1 <= x <= 2) as a primary component and another metal oxide (MOw wherein M is a metal such as niobium or tantalum and 1 <= w) as an additive component and having no cylindrical structure. Although a titanium oxide is prone to crystallize even in a thin film form, the above dielectric film takes an amorphous state since the above another metal oxide added interferes with the crystal growth of a titanium oxide. The dielectric film has a high refractive index, exhibits the reduced change over time of optical characteristics, and has a reduced film stress, and thus it can be used with stability as a constituent material of an optical multilayer film.
L'invention concerne un film diélectrique à indice de réfraction élevé, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend un matériau amorphe renfermant de l'oxyde de titane (TiO¿x? dans lequel 1 <= x <= 2) comme composant primaire et un autre oxyde de métal (Mo¿w? dans lequel M représente un métal tel que du niobium ou du tantale et 1 <= w) comme composant d'addition et en ce qu'il possède une structure non cylindrique. Bien qu'un oxyde de titane est sujet à cristallisation même sous la forme d'un film mince, le film diélectrique susmentionné revêt un état amorphe jusqu'à ce que l'autre oxyde de métal ajouté interfère, avec la croissance des cristaux d'un oxyde de titane. Le film diélectrique à indice de réfraction élevé, présente une modification réduite dans le temps des caractéristiques optiques, et une tension de film réduite; il peut ainsi être utilisé de manière stable en tant que matériau constituant d'un film optique multicouche.
