47,098 STORED ENERGY CIRCUIT BREAKER OPERATING MECHANISM HAVING MANUAL AND MOTOR OPERATING MEANS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A circuit breaker has stationary and movable contacts operable between opened and closed positions, and a movement effecting mechanism for moving the movable contact between the open and closed positions. The movement effecting mechanism includes a rotatable drive shaft and a clutch secured thereto, which drive shaft and clutch extend into, and perpendicular to, an elongated opening of the cover which encloses the circuit breaker. A handle is disposed within the elongated cover opening and is secured to the clutch, with the handle being elongated along the same direction as the cover opening, and the handle is disposed perpendicularly to the drive shaft so that movement of the handle causes rotation of the clutch and the drive shaft. -1-
