The device relates to a manually operated portable electronic flasher unit that can temporarily blind the eyesight of persons who might be potential threats in any dark or dim area, and which may cause observers to be momentarily startled, providing the operator with the advantage of time in whichto react to a situation while maintaining free and unobstructed use of both arms. It is common in personal, security, and police duty to approach unknown situations while being caught off guard or surprised with a possible violent confrontation. Your petitioner proposes to provide a portable flasher unit that can be carried on clothing and activated quickly and repeatedly at the discretion of the user as circumstances warrant. The device is designed to be easy to activate by the touch of a finger while maintaining full freedom of the arms.
