The present invention relates to novel plant-based compositions and to uses thereof, in particular as a food supplement or additive or as an allopathic or homeopathic medicament. The invention relates more particularly to compositions comprising at least one extract of cinnamon and one extract of basil, and to uses thereof in the dietary, nutraceutical or pharmaceutical field. The compositions of the invention can be used in particular for treating or preventing urinary infections, or for improving the condition of patients suffering from a urinary infection. The present invention also relates to the use of an extract of cinnamon in the form of an essential oil, alone or in combination with at least one other plant extract, for the manufacture of a composition for use in treating a urinary infection.
La présente invention concerne de nouvelles compositions à base de plantes et leurs utilisations, notamment comme complément ou additif alimentaire ou comme médicament allopathique ou homéopathique. L'invention concerne plus particulièrement des compositions comprenant au moins un extrait de cannelle et un extrait de basilic, et leurs utilisations dans le domaine alimentaire, nutraceutique ou pharmaceutique. Les compositions de l'invention sont utilisables notamment pour traiter ou prévenir les infections urinaires, ou pour améliorer la condition de patients atteints d'une infection urinaire. La présente invention concerne également l'utilisation d'un extrait de cannelle sous forme d'huile essentielle, seul ou en association avec au moins un autre extrait de plante, pour fabriquer une composition destinée à traiter une infection urinaire.
