Wood composite boards are produced from a wood fiber treated with a slow curing, low alkilinity phenol formaldehyde (PF) resin. The resin treated wood fiber is consolidated and cured in a press using steam injection. The slow curing nature of the resin prevents pre-cure of the resin. The press using steam injection speeds curing so that boards can be produced in press cycles comparable to the curing of wood fiber treated with other resins in a press with no steam injection.
Selon l'invention, on produit des panneaux composites en bois à partir de fibres de bois traitées au moyen d'une résine phénol-formol, à durcissement lent et à faible alcalinité. La fibre de bois traitée à la résine est consolidée et durcie dans une presse, par injection de vapeur. La propriété de durcissement lent de cette résine préserve celle-ci d'un durcissement préalable. Lorsque l'on utilise la presse avec une injection de vapeur, on augmente la vitesse du durcissement, de sorte que l'on peut produire des panneaux dans des cycles de presse comparables au durcissement de fibres de bois traitées au moyen d'autres résines, dans une presse et sans injection de vapeur.
