According to further broad aspect of the present invention there is provided an improved method for releasing a hydrophilic polymeric contact lens from a plastic mold in which the polymeric lens has been polymerized. The improvement in the method comprises using deionized water to which a small amount of surfactant has been added as a hydration solution for releasing the lens from the plastic mold.

L'amélioration de la méthode consiste en l'utilisation d'eau désionisée à laquelle une petite quantité de tensioactif a été ajoutée comme solution d'hydratation pour dégager la lentille du moule de plastique.
