An imaging device including a selectively charged imaging surface, having a width and moving in a direction perpendicular to the width and a toner applicator (20), the applicator including an applicator chamber having a top portion and containing a supply of liquid toner and a slit nozzle having a long dimension comparable to the imaging surface width and being fed from the top portion, the slit nozzle further including an outlet from which the liquid toner is applied to an application region (21) of the imaging surface. The supply of liquid toner preferably includes a supply of pressurized liquid toner. Preferably, the imaging device further includes a developer surface situated proximate to the imaging surface downstream of said application region (21).
Cette invention concerne un dispositif de production d'images comportant une surface de production d'images chargée de manière sélective, se déplaçant suivant une direction perpendiculaire à sa largeur et un applicateur de toner (20), ledit applicateur comportant une enceinte, pourvue d'une partie supérieure, qui contient une alimentation en toner liquide ainsi qu'une tuyère à fente de longueur comparable à la largeur de la surface de production d'images et alimentée à partir de la partie supérieure, cette tuyère à fente comportant en outre un orifice de sortie à partir duquel le toner liquide est appliqué à la région d'application (21) de la surface de production d'images. L'alimentation de toner liquide contient de préférence une alimentation de toner liquide sous pression. De préférence, le dispositif de production d'images comporte également une surface révélatrice située à proximité de la surface de production d'images en aval de ladite région d'application (21).
