An implantable bone plate (22) for use with a plurality of attachment screws (28) for treating a fracture of a bone (30) in a mammalian body is provided. The implantable bone plate includes an elongate body (32) extending along a longitudinal axis (34) and having substantially parallel outer and inner surfaces (48,50). A plurality of holes (64) is spaced longitudinally along the elongate body and extended between the first and second surfaces. The plurality of holes is adapted to receive the plurality of attachment screws. The inner surface (50) of the elongate body is provided with at least one recess (72) for receiving an eluting material (74) that treats the mammalian body after implantation of the elongate body in the mammalian body. Additionally, the elongate body is provided with at least one access hole (78) extending through the outer surface to the at least one recess for permitting introduction of the eluting material into the at least one recess.
L'invention concerne une plaque osseuse implantable (22) à utiliser avec une pluralité de vis de fixation (28) pour traiter une fracture d'un os (30) dans le corps d'un mammifère. La plaque osseuse implantable comprend un corps allongé (32) s'étendant le long d'un axe longitudinal (34) et ayant des surfaces extérieure et intérieure sensiblement parallèles (48,50). Une pluralité de trous (64) sont espacés longitudinalement le long du corps allongé et s'étendent entre les première et deuxième surfaces. La pluralité de trous sont adaptés pour recevoir la pluralité de vis de fixation.
