The production of fluorinated aromatic compounds of general formula (I), in which W, X, Z, R1 and R2 have the meanings given in the description, from corresponding C1 or Br-containing compounds with fluorides, e.g. KF, with halogen exchange in a reaction medium, is known. According to the invention, the "halex" reaction (exchange of a halogen for fluorine) is performed in a reaction medium containing compounds of general formula (III), (IV) and/or (V) in which R16 to R24 have the meaning given in the description. This provides a particularly advantageous process in which gentler conditions may be applied while providing higher output and fewer by-products. Fluorinated aromatic compounds of formula (I), e.g. are used as intermediate products for active agent synthesis.

Selon un procédé connu, on produit des composés aromatiques fluorés de formule générale (I), dans laquelle W, X, Y, Z, R1 et R2 ont la signification indiquée dans la description, à partir de composés correspondants renfermant Cl ou Br, avec des fluorures, par ex. KF, avec échange d'halogène dans un milieu de réaction. Selon le procédé de l'invention, la réaction "halex" (échange d'un halogène contre du fluor) est réalisée dans un milieu de réaction contenant des composés de formule générale (III), (IV) et/ou (V), où R?16¿ à R?24¿ ont la signification indiquée dans la description. Ainsi, il est possible de façon particulièrement avantageuse d'obtenir un procédé autorisant l'application de conditions moins agressives tout en obtenant un rendement élevé et moins de sous-produits. Ces composés aromatiques fluorés de formule (I) sont utilisés par exemple comme intermédiaires pour la synthèse de principes actifs.
