The invention concerns an asymmetrical drill stem, located at the end of an assembly of boring rods for drilling an oil well. The asymmetry is provided by the presence of recesses (24) arranged in the body (20), which recesses are of different sizes, arranged on the external surface of the drill stem and extend for the major part along the drill stem.
