A soft-sided luggage article (20) has a split-gusset component. The luggage article includes a lid gusset and a base gusset. A covering material (26, 28) is disposed over both the lid and base gusset, the lid and base gussets being joined by a zipper (30). One of the lid or base gussets includes an extension portion (40) or tongue which engages into a groove portion in the other of the lid or base gusset. In this way, unauthorized entry into the luggage article is resisted when the zipper is breached. A split-gusset, as described above, is also disclosed as well as a unique hinge for the luggage article.
La présente invention concerne une valise à flancs souples (20) comportant un soufflet articulé. La valise comporte un soufflet de couvercle et un soufflet de corps. Une garde de protection (26, 28) recouvre les soufflets de couvercle et de corps qui sont réunis par une fermeture à glissière (30). L'un des deux soufflets comporte une partie débordante (40), ou lame, s'engageant dans une rainure ménagée dans l'autre soufflet. Cela permet d'opposer une résistance à l'entrée par effraction dans la valise lorsque la fermeture à glissière est égueulée. L'invention concerne également un tel soufflet articulé, ainsi qu'une charnière de valise unique.
