This invention concerns any DNA sequence including as a coding area all or part of the nucleotide sequence coding for an mRNA coding for a cinnamoyl-CoA-reductase (CCR) in alfalfa and/or corn, or all or part of their complementary nucleotide sequence and coding for an antisense mRNA likely to hybridize with the abovementioned mRNA. The invention also concerns the use of the abovementioned sequences to implement processes for the regulation of lignin biosynthesis in plants.

La présente invention concerne tout séquence d'ADN comprenant à titre de région codante, tout ou partie de la séquence nucléotidique codant pour un ARNm codant pour une cinnamoyl CoA réductase (CCR) chez la luzerne et/ou le maïs, ou tout ou partie de la séquence nucléotidique complémentaire de ces dernières et codant pour un ARNm antisens susceptible de s'hybrider avec l'ARNm susmentionné. L'invention vise également l'utilisation des séquences susmentionnées pour la mise en oeuvre de procédés de régulation de la biosynthèse de lingnines chez les plantes.
