A powered toothbrush (10) is disclosed wherein a portion of the toothbrush head (20) is movable about a hinge (25). The movable portion (22) of the head reciprocates about that hinge through the interaction of a flexible extension (26) of that portion containing a slot (34). Movable within the slot is an offset end (36) of a rotating drive shaft (18) connected to the power source (14) in the toothbrush. Translation of rotation movement of the drive shaft to reciprocating movement of the hinged head (22) is achievable in a manner that the power source is not stalled or burned out if movement of the toothbrush head is prevented or limited.
L'invention concerne une brosse à dents électrique (10) dans laquelle une partie de la tête de brosse à dents (20) est mobile autour d'une articulation (28). La partie mobile (22) de la tête de brosse à dents effectue un mouvement alternatif autour de l'articulation, par l'interaction d'un prolongement souple (20) de la partie contenant une fente (34). Une extrémité décalée (36) mobile à l'intérieur de la fente d'un arbre d'entraînement rotatif (12) est reliée à la source d'alimentation (14) de la brosse à dents. Il est possible d'obtenir une translation d'un déplacement rotatif de l'arbre d'entraînement en déplacement alternatif de la tête articulée (22) de manière à ce que la source d'alimentation ne cale pas ou ne s'épuise pas si le déplacement de la tête de brosse à dents est empêché ou limité.
