A luge sled (20) having features which enhance performance and safety characteristics of the sled. The sled generally comprises a support structure (30) for supporting a sled rider, at least two runners (90), a cavity (92), a mounting boss (70), and an elastomeric bushing (80) positioned between the cavity and the mounting boss and including a body portion which substantially encloses the side surfaces of the mounting boss around the perimeter thereof. The elastomeric bushing may further include an end portion which substantially encloses the end surface of the mounting boss. The runners are molded from glass-reinforced plastic and are formed into an I-beam section. The runners also include a plurality of reinforcing ribs (116) protruding from a side surface thereof. The runners include a front segment (130) having a front surface (132) which is generally vertically disposed. The sled includes front and rear bridge supports (32, 34) which are molded from glass-reinforced plastic and also include reinforcing ribs in a lower surface thereof. A securing member (100) secures the support structure to the runners without applying excessive compressive forces between the side walls defining the cavity and the mounting boss.
La présente invention concerne une luge-traîneau (20) comportant des dispositifs accroissant les performances et la sécurité du traîneau. Le traîneau comporte une structure support (30) destinée à supporter le conducteur du traîneau, au moins deux patins (90), une cavité (92), une patte de montage (70) et une douille élastomère (80) montée entre la cavité et la patte de montage, une partie du corps de cette douille enserrant sensiblement les faces latérales du pourtour de la patte de fixation. La douille élastomère peut également comporter une partie d'extrémité enserrant sensiblement la face d'extrémité de la patte de montage. Les patins moulés, en plastique armé de fibre de verre, présentent une section de profilé en I. Les patins comportent également une pluralité de nervures de renfort (116) dépassant de leur face latérale. Les patins comportent un segment avant (130) dont la face avant (132) se présente généralement à la verticale. Le traîneau comporte des arceaux supports avant et arrière (32, 34) moulés, en plastique armé de fibre de verre, et comportant également des nervures de renfort sur l'une de leurs faces inférieures. Un organe de fixation (100) assujettit la structure support aux patins sans exercer de forces de compression excessives entre les parois latérales définissant la cavité et la patte de montage.
