A communion dispenser comprises a small cup (10) for containing juice or wine and has a flat upper edge or flange (12). The cup is closed by a two-part lid (14a, 14b) within which communion bread in the form of an edible wafer (20) is received. The top layer (14a) of the lid (14) is first removed to access the wafer (20) and the lower layer (14b) of the lid (14) is later removed so that a juice or wine within the cup (10) may be taken. The upper and lower layers (14a, 14b) of the lid (14) comprise folded over portions of a paper-foil or paper-plastic material that are heat sealed to one another and each have a pull-tab (16, 24) thereon which are grasped to enable the layers (14a, 14b) to be peeled from one another and the upper flange (12) of the cup.

Distributeur utilisé pour donner la communion comprenant un petit calice (10) destiné à contenir du jus de fruit ou du vin, pourvu d'un bord ou d'un rebord (12) supérieur plat. Le calice est fermé par un couvercle (14a, 14b) en deux parties dans lequel est placé le pain eucharistique se présentant sous forme d'une hostie (20). Pour accéder à la hostie on enlève tout d'abord la partie supérieure (14a) du couvercle (14) puis on ôte la partie inférieure (14b) du couvercle (14) de manière à pouvoir boire le jus de fruit ou le vin que contient le calice (10). Les parties supérieure et inférieure (14a, 14b) du couvercle (14) sont constituées de parties repliées d'une feuille de papier ou de papier/plastique qui sont thermosoudées l'une sur l'autre et comportent chacune une languette de traction (16, 24) permettant de séparer les parties (14a, 14b) l'une de l'autre et de libérer le rebord supérieur (12) du calice.
