Immunoassay For The Detection Of HIV Specific IgM Abstract A method of immunoassay for detecting antibodies to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The assay detects HIV specific IgM antibody thereby distinguishing those infants who are infected with HIV from those who have passively acquired maternal HIV specific IgG antibodies. Additionally, the assay can be used to detect individuals infected with HIV who have not yet mounted an IgG immune response.
