Disclosed is a new alternative method for the phase unwrapping of the interferogram of two SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images of the same area. This new method uses an iterative approach to the phase unwrapping problem by applying local circular or elliptical masks centred on the phase residues. A phase unwrapping error is detected automatically during the unwrapping process by comparing each unwrapped value with neighbouring unwrapped values. This new method for phase unwrapping significantly improves the quality of unwrapped phase maps. This will allow extraction of quantitative information such as height and deformation from interferometric SAR measurements. This is significant for the routine application of SAR interferometry in fields like digital elevation mapping and large scale deformation mapping.
Une nouvelle méthode est révélée pour le déroulement de phase de l'interférogramme de deux images de radar à ouverture synthétique (ROS) de la même région. Cette nouvelle méthode adapte une approche itérative pour effectuer le déroulement de phase et utilise des masques locaux circulaires ou elliptiques centrés sur les résidus de phase. L'erreur de déroulement de phase est mesurée automatiquement au cours du déroulement par comparaison de chaque valeur déroulée avec les valeurs déroulées voisines. Cette nouvelle méthode de déroulement de phase améliore considérablement la qualité des cartes à phase déroulée. Il permet l'extraction d'informations quantitatives telles que l'altitude et la déformation résultant des mesures interférométriques par ROS. Ceci est important pour l'utilisation systématique de l'interférométrie ROS dans des domaines tels que la cartographie hypsométrique numérique et la cartographie de déformation à grande échelle.
