A process is presented for the production of ammonium sulfate nitrate. The process provides for producing a high- ly uniform product and having a substantially uniform size. The process includes reacting ammonium sulfate and ammonium ni-trate to form an FASN slurry melt. The slurry melt is continuously stirred and heated to keep the slurry melt under a shear thinned condition and at a uniform temperature until the slurry melt is extruded, cooled and solidified.
L'invention porte sur un procédé pour la production de sulfate nitrate d'ammonium. Le procédé permet d'obtenir un produit hautement uniforme et ayant une dimension sensiblement uniforme. Le procédé comprend la réaction du sulfate d'ammonium et du nitrate d'ammonium pour former une masse fondue de bouillie de FASN. La masse fondue de bouillie est agitée en continu et chauffée pour maintenir la masse fondue de bouillie dans un état fluidifié par cisaillement et à une température uniforme jusqu'à ce que la masse fondue de bouillie soit extrudée, refroidie et solidifiée.
