An agent based system assists in obtaining information from an article of interest and utilizes the information to take user directed action based on the information from the target article. The system obtains input text in character form indicative of the target meeting from a calendar program that includes the time of the meeting. As the time of the meeting approaches, the calendar program is queried to obtain the text of the target event and that information is utilized as input to the agent system. Then, the agent system parses the input meeting text to extract its various components such as title, body, participants, location, time etc. The system also performs pattern matching to identify particular appropriate information. This information is utilized to query various sources of information on the web and obtain relevant stories about the current meeting to send back to the calendaring system.
L'invention concerne un système faisant appel à un agent contribuant à l'obtention d'informations d'un article d'intérêt et utilisant les informations pour effectuer des actions orientées utilisateur d'après les informations provenant de l'article cible. Le système reçoit un texte de saisie sous forme de caractères signalant la réunion cible à partir d'un programme agenda comprenant l'heure de la réunion. A mesure que l'heure de la réunion approche, on demande au programme agenda d'obtenir le texte de l'événement cible et cette information sert de saisie au système agent. Ce dernier analyse le texte saisi concernant la réunion de manière à en extraire différents fragments, dont le titre, le corps, les participants, l'emplacement, l'heure, etc. Ce système effectue également une correspondance de modèle afin d'identifier des informations particulières adéquates qui servent à rechercher diverses sources d'informations sur le Web et obtenir des renseignements appropriés au sujet de la réunion concernée afin de les renvoyer au système agenda.
