A vaccine comprising a combination of Brucella "A" and "M" outer--polysaccharides (OPSs) and "R" protein antigens for enhancing immunity against brucellosis is disclosed. The OPS may be obtained from different strains or species of Brucellae (i.e. combining OPS extracted from different bacteria expressing "A" or "M" OPS, or combining OPS and OPS-protein complexes extracted from different bacteria). The OPS or OPS-protein complexes may also be obtained from a single strain expressing more than one OPS (e.g. from B. suis strain 145 which expresses "A", "M" and possibly other OPSs). The vaccine according to the present invention overcomes the limitation of previously discovered B. abortus "A" OPS which only protects against species and strains of Brucella that had "A" OPS but not against others with different OPS.
Vaccin comprenant une association des polysaccharides externes (OPS) « A » et « M » et de la protéine « R » de Brucella, destiné à accroître l'immunité contre la brucellose. Les OPS peuvent provenir de souches ou d'espèces différentes du genre Brucella (c.-à-d. que l'on peut associer des OPS de bactéries différentes, exprimant l'OPS « A » ou l'OPS « M », ou associer des OPS et des complexes OPS-protéine provenant de bactéries différentes). Les OPS et les complexes OPS- protéine peuvent également provenir d'une même souche exprimant plus d'un OPS (p. ex. la souche 145 de B. suis, qui exprime l'OPS « A », l'OPS « M » et potentiellement d'autres OPS). Le vaccin ci-décrit permet de surmonter les limites associées à l'OPS « A » de B. abortus que l'on a découvert antérieurement, lequel confère une protection contre les espèces et les souches de Brucella qui présentent l'OPS « A », mais non contre les autres espèces et souches présentant d'autres OPS.
