A method for the control of microorganisms, fungi or oomycetes in agriculture, said method comprising applying to plants or to the environment thereof, an anti-microbial, anti-fungal or anti- oomycetes effective amount of a combination of : (i) an agriculturally acceptable acidifying agent, and (ii) an agriculturally acceptable source of nitrite ions or a nitrate precursor thereof, wherein the combination of (i) and (ii) acts as a source of nitric oxide. Systems and compositions for use in this method are also described and claimed.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de lutte contre les micro-organismes, les champignons ou les oomycètes en agriculture, lequel procédé consiste à appliquer sur les végétaux ou leur environnement une quantité efficace antimicrobienne, antifongique ou anti-oomycètes d'une combinaison : (i) d'un agent acidifiant acceptable d'un point de vue agricole; et (ii) d'une source acceptable d'un point de vue agricole d'ions nitrites ou d'un précurseur nitrate de ceux-ci, ladite combinaison de (i) et (ii) constituant une source d'oxyde nitrique. Cette invention concerne également des systèmes et des compositions utilisés dans ce procédé.
