The invention relates to a water purification installation comprising: a coagulation area (1); a flocculation area (3); an area (5) for mixing, in an upflow, the flocculated water with pressurised water which is delivered by a microbubble-generating pressurisation-pressure reduction system (8); and a flotation area (6). According to the invention, suspended matter, which is brought to the surface by the aforementioned microbubbles, is evacuated from the upper part of the flotation area. Moreover, the lower part of said flotation area comprises means of collecting (10) the clarified water. The inventive installation is characterised in that: the geometry of the flotation area (6) is such that the ratio between the height (H) of the area located above the clarified water collection means (10) and the length (L) of said area is included between 0.3 and 1; and the ratio between the surface (Sa) of the nappe at the outlet of the mixing area (5) and the surface (Sp) of the actual flotation area is included between 0.05 and 0.5 and, preferably, between 0.1 and 0.35.
Installation de purification d'eaux comportant une zone de coagulation (1), une zone de floculation (3), une zone de mélange (5), dans un courant ascendant, de l'eau floculée avec de l'eau pressurisée délivrée par un système de pressurisation-détente (8) générateur de microbulles et, une zone de flottation (6) à la partie supérieure de laquelle sont évacuées les matières en suspension amenées à la surface par les microbulles, cette zone de flottation comportant à sa partie inférieure un moyen de reprise (10) de l'eau clarifiée, cette installation étant caractérisée en ce que : - la géométrie de la zone de flottation (6) est telle que le rapport entre la hauteur (H) de la zone située au-dessus du moyen de reprise (10) de l'eau clarifiée, et la longueur (L) de ladite zone, est compris entre 0,3 et 1; et - le rapport entre la surface (Sa) de la lame d'eau à la sortie de la zone de mélange (5) et la surface (Sp) de la zone de flottation proprement dite est compris entre 0,05 et 0,5 et, de préférence, entre 0,1 et 0,35.
