A reciprocating engine (10) operating on the two stroke cycle, comprising a pair of stationary and substantially concentrically aligned mutually opposed pistons (13, 15) and a sleeve (11) adapted to reciprocate about these static pistons. The reciprocating sleeve (11) defining two cavities, each cavity being operatively connected to one of the pistons to define a chamber. The first chamber being a pre-charge chamber (21) and having at least one inlet port (25), and the second chamber being a combustion chamber (19) and having at least one outlet port (35), the two chambers being separated by a pressure operated transfer valve (23). The reciprocating motion of the sleeve (11) can be converted into rotary motion.
L'invention concerne un moteur alternatif (10) fonctionnant sur le cycle à deux temps et comprenant une paire de pistons fixes (13, 15) réciproquement opposés et alignés de manière sensiblement concentrique ainsi qu'un manchon (11) conçu pour effectuer un mouvement alternatif autour de ces pistons statiques. Le manchon à mouvement alternatif (11) définit deux cavités, chaque cavité étant reliée fonctionnelle à l'un des pistons de manière à définir une chambre. La première chambre est une chambre de précharge (21) et comprend au moins un orifice d'entrée (25), et la seconde chambre est une chambre de combustion (19) et comprend au moins un orifice de sortie (35), ces deux chambres étant séparées par une valve de transfert actionnée par pression (23).
