-45- VOICE MESSAGE SYNCHRONIZATION Abstract In a coder and decoder for speech recording, transmission and reproduction, especially in voice messaging systems, a method of identifying andsynchronizing control information in stored or transmitted voice messages. To provide compatibility with prior systems, and to avoid erroneous synchronizationarising from overwritten or edited voice messages, selected ones of a class of coded sequences are advantageously included in coded information and detected and interpreted in decoding.
