Toy Glider with Launching Unit Abstract A toy glider system consists of a toy glider and a regular hand launch- ing unit, mainly for outdoor use, or a launching platform, for both indoor and outdoor use. The inventions of this system are the simple but effec- tive triangular or "delta" wings and the aileron structure of the glider; and the holding, guiding, and accelerating mechanisms of the launching platform. The special wing structure of the glider allows the glider to have the high-speed characteristic when it is released from the launching unit. Hence the glider gains speed and height in a effective way. As the glider slows down, this wing structure gives the glider the gliding ability. The aileron structure of the glider allows the direction, trajectory, and distance of the flight of the glider to be ajusted by users. As a result, the glider system is not only a toy but also an educational tool for the user to gain some elementary understanding of aerodynamics of flights. The holding, guiding, and accelerating mechanisms of the platform allow the glider to be launched in a more stable situation.
