A compound of formula (I) wherein Ph1, Ph2, and Ph3 are each a phenyl group optionally substituted with a combination of up to three members of the group consisting of fluoro, chloro, bromo, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl, NH2, N(CH3)2, (C1-4) alkyl and (C1-4)alkoxy or the phenyl group can be substituted with a methylenedioxy group; n is an integer of from 1 to 5; m is 0 or an integer of from 1 to 2; and q is an integer of from 1 to 2; or an acid addition salt thereof, which reverse multidrug resistance in multidrug resistant tumor cells and are thus useful adjuvants in the treatment of tumors. These compounds apparently function by inhibiting a p-glycoprotein pump which becomes activated in late stage tumor development and which is inherently present in tumors from certain origins,
L'invention concerne un composé de la formule (I) dans laquelle Ph1, Ph2 et Ph3 représentent chacun un groupe phényle facultativement substitué par une combinaison groupant jusqu'à trois éléments du groupe constitué par fluoro, chloro, bromo, hydroxy, trifluorométhyle, NH2, N(CH3)2, alkyle C1-4 et alkoxy C1-4, ou le groupe phényle peut être substitué par un groupe méthylènedioxy; n représente un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 5; m représente 0, 1 ou 2; et q représente 1 ou 2; ou un sel d'addition d'acide dudit composé, lesquels inversent la résistance multimédicament dans des cellules tumorales présentant une résistance multimédicament, et par conséquent sont utiles comme adjuvants dans le traitement de tumeurs. Ces composés fonctionnent apparamment par inhibition d'une p-glycoprotéine à effet de pompe s'activant au stade avancé du développement de tumeurs, laquelle est présente de façon inhérente dans des tumeurs de certaines origines.
