A bedding top cover (10, 100) that defines a woven fabric (12) that is ordinarily white or substantially white in color and has an alternate colored, textured, and/or patterned area or band (24) purposefully located near the foot end (54) of the bedding top cover and which is woven, via colored, textured, and/or patterned yarns, integrally with the top cover fabric. This simulated alternate colored, textured, and/or patterned area appears in many respects to be a bed scarf and serves the same aesthetic and protective functions of a separate piece of fabric. In one example, the simulated bed scarf (24) is multicolored and the remainder of the bedding top cover is white.
