Disclosed herein is a device and method for torque testing rotary drive tools of different tool groups. The device comprises a tool mount adjustably mounted on a base portion for holding a rotary drive tool in place during a testing procedure with a tool drive end able to be received therethrough. A torque test module is operatively coupled to a shuttle unit, slidably mounted on a track for movement between a tool drive end-engaged position and a tool drive end-released position. A first link couples the tool drive end to a torque sensor and the torque sensor is coupled to a torque test member located on a torque test block which in turn is located on the shuttle unit, thus forming the torque test module. The shuttle unit is reversibly lockable in place by way a positioning module which interacts with the base portion. In some exemplary embodiments, the positioning module includes a spring-loaded pin which is operably and reversibly received in corresponding locking formations located on the base portion.
