A system which regulates communication with a server is described. The system determines a retransmission rate of data packets during a first set of conversations between a group of users and the server via a peering link. Next, the system compares the retransmission rate and an historical retransmission rate of data packets during a second set of conversations between a second group of users and the server via the peering link. The system then adjusts a target acceptance rate of the server to requests to initiate conversations with additional users via the peering link based on the comparison of the retransmission rate and the historical retransmission rate. Additionally, the system accepts or rejects a request to initiate a conversation between another user and the server via the peering link based on an actual acceptance rate of the server to requests to initiate the conversations and the target acceptance rate.
Linvention concerne un système qui régule la communication avec un serveur. Le système détermine un débit de retransmission de paquets de données pendant un premier ensemble de conversations entre un groupe dutilisateurs et le serveur via un lien dappairage. Ensuite, le système compare le débit de retransmission et un débit de retransmission historique de paquets de données pendant un second ensemble de conversations entre un second groupe dutilisateurs et le serveur via le lien dappairage. Le système ajuste alors un taux dacceptation cible du serveur à des demandes dinitiation de conversations avec des utilisateurs supplémentaires via le lien dappairage, sur la base de la comparaison du débit de retransmission et du débit de retransmission historique. De plus, le système accepte ou rejette une demande dinitiation dune conversation entre un autre utilisateur et le serveur via le lien dappairage, sur la base dun taux dacceptation effectif du serveur, pour demander linitiation de conversations et du taux dacceptation cible.
