A process for the carbonylation of unsaturated compounds by contacting the unsaturated compound with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst system comprising: (a) a source of palladium and/or platinum; and (e) an unsymmetrical bidentate diphosphine ligand of formula (I), R1R2 > P1 - R3 - P2 < R4R5 (I) wherein P1 andp P2 represent phosphorus atoms; R3 represents a divalent organic bridging group; and R1, R2, R4 and R5 each individually, or Rl and R2 jointly, and/or R4 and R5 jointly represent organic groups that are covalently linked to the phosphorus; and wherein R1, R2, R4 and R5 are chosen in such way, that the phosphino group R1R2 > P1 differs from the phosphino group P2 < R4R5.

Cette invention concerne un procédé de carbonylation de composés insaturés, lequel procédé consiste à mettre le composé insaturé en contact avec un monoxyde de carbone en présence d'un système catalyseur comprenant: (a) une source de palladium et/ou de platinium; et (e) un ligand disphosphine bidenté asymétrique représenté par la formule R?1¿R?2¿ > P?1¿ - R?3¿ - P?2¿ < R?4¿R?5¿ (I) dans laquelle P?1¿ et P?2¿ désignent des atomes de phosphore; R?3¿ désigne un groupe de pontage organique divalent; et R?1¿, R?2¿, R?4¿ et R?5¿ désignent chacun individuellement, ou R?1¿ et R?2¿ ensemble et/ou R?4¿ et R?5¿ ensemble désignent des groupes organiques qui sont liés par covalence à l'atome de phosphore et dans laquelle R?1¿, R?2¿, R?4¿ et R?5¿ sont sélectionnés de façon que le groupe phosphino R?1¿R?2¿ > P?1¿ soit différent du groupe phosphino P?2¿ < R?4¿R?5¿.
