Automotive trim strip (32) are made by extruding a thermoplastic material onto a foil carrier (24). The foil carrier (24) has a receiving surface having a low strength adhesive for releasably receiving the thermoplastic material (22). The thermoplastic material is end formed to contour ends of the thermoplastic material such that an automotive trim strip (32) is formed having a predetermined final length. The automotive trim strips (32) are then cooled. The foil carrier (24) is removed presenting a substantially flat surface for receiving adhesives for permanently attaching the automotive trim strip (32) to the vehicle.
Les baguettes de finition (32) d'automobiles sont obtenues par extrusion d'un matériau thermoplastique sur un support en feuille (24). Ce support en feuille (24) présente une face de réception de faiblement adhésive de façon à recevoir de façon détachable le matériau thermoplastique (22). Ce matériau thermoplastique a reçu sa forme finale aux extrémités de contour du matériau de plastique de façon qu'une baguette de finition d'automobile (32) ainsi formée présente une longueur finale définie. On met ensuite ces baguettes de finition (32) à refroidir, puis on ôte la feuille de support (24) ce qui dégage une surface sensiblement plate prête à accueillir les colles de fixation définitive de la baguette de finition (32) sur l'automobile.
