A trailing beam suspension includes a mechanical adjustment mechanism for aligning the axle and wheels of a vehicle. The trailing beam is mounted to the vehicle frame by a pivot bolt passing through a hanger bracket and a conventional bushed connection. Opposing sides of the hanger bracket contain aligned curved apertures that receive the pivot bolt. The pivot bolt passes through pivot arms which are pivotally connected to the sides of the hanger bracket. The pivot arms are connected to a yoke to which an adjustment shaft is attached. Movement of the adjustment shaft moves the yoke fore and aft. The movement of the yoke pivots the pivot arms, thus moving the pivot bolt in a fore-and aft-direction. When the trailing beam has been aligned, the pivot connection is tightened, thus securing the trailing beam, axle, and wheels in the desired alignment.
L'invention porte sur une suspension de poutre traînante comportant un mécanisme de réglage mécanique permettant d'aligner l'essieu et les roues d'un véhicule. La poutre traînante est montée sur le châssis du véhicule par un axe de pivot traversant un palier pendant et une pièce intermédiaire conventionnelle revêtue. Les côtés opposés du palier pendant comportent des ouvertures courbées alignées recevant l'axe de pivot. Ce dernier passe à travers des bras de pivot reliés de manière à pivoter aux côtés du palier pendant. Les bras de pivot sont reliés à une fourche à laquelle est fixé l'axe de réglage. Le mouvement de l'axe de réglage déplace la fourche vers l'avant et vers l'arrière. Le mouvement de ladite fourche fait pivoter les bras de pivot, et déplace, par la même, l'axe de pivot dans un sens avant et arrière. Lorsque la poutre traînante est alignée, la pièce intermédiaire de pivot est resserrée, ce qui se traduit par l'alignement souhaité de la poutre traînante, de l'essieu et des roues.
