This invention includes novel 2,5-bis-[bis[(4-amino)phenyl] hydroxy-methyl]substituted furan, thiophene, and pyrrole color-forming compounds and the reaction of these compounds or 2-mono-[bis[(4-amino)phenyl] hydroxy-methyl]substituted furan, thiophene, and pyrrole color-forming compounds to form colored compounds. The invention also includes the use of these color-forming compounds in the manufacture and imaging of thermal imaging papers and pressure-sensitive imaging papers.
