A system for measuring the effectiveness of on-line advertising (418). The system includes a method for measuring advertising effectiveness of a merchant's (408) advertisement presented on a data network that comprises steps of identifying a consumer that accesses the data network, presenting the advertisement to the consumer via the data network, recording the consumer's network activity in an activity database, wherein the consumer's network activity in response to the advertisement is recorded in the activity database, and matching the activity database with purchase transaction records of the merchant to determine an effectiveness parameter of the advertisement.
L'invention concerne un système permettant d'évaluer l'efficacité d'une publicité en ligne (418). Ce système comprend un procédé d'évaluation de l'efficacité publicitaire d'une publicité d'une entité commerciale (408) présentée sur un réseau de données. Ledit procédé consiste à identifier un consommateur ayant accès au réseau de données, à présenter la publicité au consommateur via le réseau de données, à enregistrer l'activité de réseau du consommateur dans une base de données activité, l'activité de réseau du consommateur en réponse à la publicité étant enregistrée dans la base de données activité, et à mettre en correspondance la base de données activité avec les registres de transactions d'achat de l'entité commerciale afin de déterminer un paramètre d'efficacité de la publicité.
