The invention relates to polynucleotides from Ashbya gossypii; oligonucleotides hybridised by the above; expression cassettes and vectors, containing said polynucleotides; micro-organisms transformed with the above; polypeptides coded by said polynucleotides and the use of the polypeptides and polynucleotides as targets to improve stress-resistance and, in particular, improve vitamin B2 production in micro-organisms of the species Ashbya.
