A cryogenic air separation process generates both an intermediate product and an output product. The intermediate product is produced earlier in time than the output product and variations in output product measurements correlate to earlier variations in intermediate product measurements. The process responds to plural independent variable phenomena. The apparatus includes analyzers for providing measures of the intermediate and output products and the independent variable phenomena. A control processor predicts a measure of the intermediate product, based on the independent variable phenomena and output predicted values therefor. A difference is then determined between the current predicted value for the intermediate product and a measure of the intermediate product, to arrive at a prediction error. The processor is responsive to this intermediate product prediction error to further predict both current and future values of the output product so as to enable control actions to be taken with respect to the output product to control impurities therein.
Cette invention concerne un procédé cryogénique de séparation d'air donnant à la fois un produit intermédiaire et un produit fini. Le produit intermédiaire étant obtenu avant le produit fini, les variations dans sa production donnent par corrélation des indications sur la production de produit fini. Le procédé réagit à plusieurs phénomènes variables indépendantes. L'installation comprend des analyseurs qui renseignent sur différents paramètres des produits intermédiaire et fini en plus d'indiquer la grandeur des phénomènes variables indépendantes. Un processeur de commande prédit la production de produit intermédiaire en fonction des variables indépendantes mesurées et en tire des valeurs prévues de production de produit fini. Il établit l'écart entre la valeur prévue actuelle concernant le produit intermédiaire et la valeur réelle correspondante pour définir l'erreur de prévision. Le processeur applique l'erreur de prévision aux calculs prévisionnels de la production actuelle et future de produit fini afin d'être en mesure d'intervenir sur la production de produit fini dans un but d'accroissement de la pureté dudit produit.
