The invention is directed, in part, to method of using self-reported health data in online communities to predict significant health events in life-changing illnesses to improve the lives of individuals and to improve patient self-management. The invention provides a method for providing real-time personalized medical predictions for an individual patient. The method includes: providing a database containing patient information for a plurality of other patients including one or more attributes for each patient in the database; constructing a model of a disease based on disease progressions for the plurality of patients; receiving a request from the individual patient, the patient associated with one or more attributes; and making a real-time prediction for the individual patient based on the mode and the individual patient' s attributes.
L'invention concerne, en partie, un procédé d'utilisation de données de santé signalées automatiquement au sein de communautés en ligne afin de prédire des événements de santé significatifs dans le cadre d'affections lourdes afin d'améliorer la vie d'individus et d'améliorer la gestion de soi par les patients. L'invention prévoit un procédé consistant à établir des prédictions médicales personnalisées en temps réel pour un patient individuel. Le procédé comprend : le fait de prévoir une base de données qui contient des informations de patients relatives à une pluralité d'autres patients et qui comprennent un ou plusieurs attribut(s) pour chaque patient de la base de données; la construction d'un modèle d'affection sur la base de progressions d'affections pour la pluralité de patients; la réception d'une demande du patient individuel, le patient étant associé à ou un plusieurs attribut(s); et la réalisation d'une prédiction en temps réel pour le patient individuel sur la base du mode et des attributs du patient individuel.
